Marie yawned and sat upright on the mattress that served as her bed on the streets of Rome. She was poor and the Assassin Guilds were full, so she had to improvise with where she slept that night. The sun was beating down on her face so she pulled her cap just over her eyes and sat up. It wasn't long before a bird's fluttering of wings could be heard and one flew down toward her position, landing on an outstretched arm. A note was attached to its leg, which Marie promptly took off.
"A bodyguard, eh?" She muttered to herself, standing up and sending the bird away. She them swallowed the note.
It was a short walk to the destination she was to be meeting the man at. Sure enough, in a back alley she found her contact.
"Marie, at your service."

"Ah, you came! Good! But I wasn't expecting a pirate. I was expecting more... you know. An Assassino - one that wears a white cape!" The portly man in the alley chuckled, showing off his dazzling white teeth. He placed his hands upon his stomach which was laden in jewels upon white robes.
"I was dressed for the occasion, but no matter."
He then bent to pick up his box of valuable and exotic flowers.

"I am an Assassin..." Maria muttered, cursing inwardly her choice of clothes for the day. At least she still had her hidden blade if this person wo called upon her caused any trouble. It was said in the note that contractors are not normally killed unless they turned out to be traitor, but she wouldn't much care if he was going to contnue on treating her like this.
"Right, I think I can guess where we're going." Maria spoke normally, outting her hands on her hips. She nodded briskly toward where a crowd of people were gathering in a queue to the festival while the man picked up his box.

"Indeed." The man nodded, seeing her direct the location they would be going. "But you had better watch out, some are after my blood and not just mine, but also that of my flowers'."  He frowned, setting off in the direction of the festival via a route through an alleyway that was partially lit by the low sun. He rounded several corners before stopping at the exit of the alleyway, where it opened up to the square where the festival was beong held. The air was filled with the sound  of laughing children and haggling adults tryng to get the best possible deals on flowers. The man adjusted the box he carried before stepping over to an empty stall of a bench and table. He began to set up.

"Through an alleyway...?" Maria muttered as they took the indirect route to the festival. Dark shadows played on the ground, from the walls that separated the sun from their eyes. Her footsteps with her boots and the cobbled ground resonated throughout the structure. She could hear the birds of dawn tweeting but she had no desire to investigate or pull out her hidden blade for any potential attackers. Today, she was actually feeling a bit tired.
Finally, they reached the square, where the man began to set up.
"So, when do you open?" Maria asked, bending down to pick up flowers from the box to help.

"In a few minutes." The man spoke as he arranged the flowers delicately all around his stall. He created an elaborate display with the help of Maria, commanding her what to do and where to lay the flowers. To him, Assassins were good at more than just killing. It also seemed they had a hidden talent for flower arranging.

When the stall was done, he wiped the sweat from his brow. He looked up to see the first passer-by of the day.
"This is very nice!" They spoke, leaning forward slightly to catch a whiff of the mixed scent of the flowers. As he did so, he leaned forward slightly to reveal the sheen of a dagger within his robes.

"A few minutes? Fine." Maria replied as she continued helping with the flowers and placing them in appropiate places on the stall. All through this, she was keeping watch with both of her eyes for any unscruptulous characters. When she was commanded where to lay the flowers time and time again, she couldn't help but feel her expertise as an Assassin would be better off used elsewhere rather than doing this menial task... But then again, she had to blend in and not look so out of character as she already did through her clothes.

Later, she smiled when she saw the passer-by come to the stall and appreciate the work done on it. At least she had the gratification of knowing she had at least helped with the stall. However, she was set on the alert when she saw the glint of metal under his robes...
She stepped casually behind the man, looking over his shoulder at his client for any signal of danger he may give.

The man who was inspecting the stall stood upright again sharply. He gave a glance behind himself to see a crowd of revellers and many market stalls as well as Maria, who didn't seem to be attracting much attention to herself. Well, she'd attract less if she had a change of clothes.
The man rubbed his v-shaped beard before turning back to the stallholder.
"How much are these?" He asked, pointing to the rare and exotic purple flowers at the back nearest to the stallholder.
"These are the best we have, and they'd easily be worth about two thousand Florins! You see, they are imported from..." He didn't manage to end his sentence before a hand was waved in front of his face.
"I don't care about where they're from." The man replied with sharp, piercing eyes." All I cared about was the value, and you gave it to me so thank you very much."
There was a flicker of metal on either side of the stallholder who was quickly surrounded by two cloaked men, both with beards but lacking the pericing eyes of who seemed to be their leader.
"Wait, what is this?" The stallholder demanded answers. He stepped backward very slightly but even this was enough to allow one of the cloaked men to step behind him and hold a dagger to his white robes, almost cutting through them.

Maria stayed hidden as the crowd behind the suspicious looking man was scrutinized. The other citizens around her kept moving as if nothing was going on but she could feel it - a chill in her bones. Was it as a result of his stare, his eyes...?
Maria listened to the conversation about the cost of the flowers, idly looking at other stalls as she did so in an attempt to look interested and not to seem like an outcast. However, she let out a gasp when the fated words of battle were uttered.
"What?!" Maria whispered in disbelief, turning back to the suspicious man. Around the stallholder, two more cloaked men had gathered. This wasn't good. The world seemed to stand still around them. This was her first contract... His life was in danger, and if she didn't kill him now she'd regret this moment for the rest of her career...

Readying her hidden blade as silently as she could, she listened to the rest of the conversation between the man and her contract.

"You'll know too much information after today." The bearded man spoke. "Sure, we could have just picked them up without you observing but then again that would make us no better than the comon thief."
The man behind the stallholder chuckled.
"Plus, it's not like you have anyone to save you now!"
He pulled back his dagger in preparation for the deadly blow...

Maria gasped, not attempting to be silent any more. She leapt forward, activating her Hidden Blade. She grabbed the neck of the closest man - the bearded man - and thrust the blade into his neck, killing him. Withoit further hesitation, she clambered onto the counter, crushing some flowers in the process. She then dived forward to smack the Templar's hand away from her contract's back just in time before the dagger drove into his body. The dagger was released from the man's grasp with a gasp and it clattered to the cobbled stones below. Ready for battle, Maria rightened herself and entered a fighting stance to fight the remaining Templars.
"Get out of here!" She commanded the contract.

(sorry!)

The bearded man's last thought was about how he was going to spend his money for turning in this wretched stallholder who was obviously wealthy. What not many knew is that he actually had crimes under his belt to his name.
The last thing he felt was his own blood spurting out of his neck.

The man who had his dagger smacked away gave a gasp and lumbered backward, readying himself and regaining his composure. Maria then yelled for the stallholder to run away which he did so without hesitation.
"I'll get you for that someday!" The man scowled at Maria, pulling out a hidden sword from his trousers. He grinned and lunged forward, using extreme dexterity skills to be able to have good footwork and balance. Assassins, no matter how weak, were not to be underestimated.
