Short History:

William was born on June 14, a hot summer's night, to his parents - members of the Assassin Order. His father, one of the most notorious assassins in the western hemisphere, was a master of the blade and rifle. As such, it was only a matter of time before Abstergo and the Templars focused their attention onto the Kendall family in order to nullify a threat. When William was but a shy age of three, he witnessed his father die at the hands of a Templar before escaping with his mother to Italy. Over the next couple of years, William would be trained in the arts of assassination, swordsmanship, and stealth. By the time William was twelve years old, he knew which areas to immobilize when chasing a target, which points to strike to cause the most pain in interrogation, and where to lay his blade to kill a target effortlessly. Upon learning these skills, William's mother bequeathed unto him his father's daggar, an intricate, curved blade that had been passed down from generation to generation.

It was around this time that William's mother told him of the war between the Assassins and the Templars that had been raging on for centuries, with leagues of blood spilled and shed by both sides. William's resolve for fighting for the assassin's was resolved, as he firmly believed that each person had the right to their psychological freedom, regardless of whatever faults or events may come of it. On William's fifteenth birthday, he had become a full-fledged member of the assassin order. As such, he was sent on his first kill: the very same man who had killed his father. It had turned out that the Templar was in Italy searching for the remaining Kendall's, so William needed only to wait until he was found. Confronting the Templar in a dark alleyway, William barely was able to match the man's skills until the murderer made a mistake - leaving an opening. The Templar barely had time to regret his decision before William rammed his father's daggar into the man's heart, twisting it before savagely ripping it out.

It was done, William was truly an Assassin. Shortly after these series of events, a machine had been delivered to the assassin hideout in Italy. An animus, they called it. A machine so advanced it could lead you through the memories of an ancestor that were encoded in your DNA. Being told that the way to win the war and rebuild the world that was destroyed was to enter the animus and relive an ancestor's memories, William accepted, and now awaits his synchronization with his ancestor: Lorenzo Kendale da Venice.

Ancestor's Short History:

Officially, not much is known about Lorenzo Kandale, other than that he was a merchant from Venice before mysteriously dropping out of any history records. We know through the animus that he was inducted into the assassin's ranks by his father, Leonardo, at the age of 17. In the time between then and his death, he metamorphosed into a cold-blooded assassin, killing any persons who he deemed unfit for the privilege of living. Although this does not necessarily mean that he killed civilians, he was known to interrogate innocents roughly, leading to questioning of his motives among other assassin's. This doubt was removed, however, when Lorenzo killed a high-ranking Templar officer who threatened to raid the assassin headquarters in Venice.
